This year’s chosen charity for the Manchester Twestival is St Ann’s Hospice (http://www.sah.org.uk/).

Set up in 1971, the hospice is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with life-threatening and progressive illnesses.

So come along on 10 September to House 9 Bar (http://house9bar.com/) and bring along a bit of spending to help raise as much as possible for St Ann’s Hospice.

Almost there…

Thank to everyone who made it along to Manchester Twestival, it was great to see so many people supporting the event.  We managed to raise £3979.44 which is amazing and will make a real difference to those in desperate need of clean drinking water.  Good work Manchester :-)

Guess what?

Adding to our list of lux charity auction items……

A fantastic private after work event for five friends at Rags to Bitches - as well as personal styling advice from co-owner, stylist and journalist - Flic Everett, you will also get individual tarot readings, complimentary cocktails and nibbles!

Two tickets to the FutureSonic Conference ‘The Social Technologies Summit’ - worth up to £150 each, donated by the organisers.

A mixed case of alcohol free drinks - 12 bottles including red, white, rose and sparkling wines, soft drinks and alcohol free beers - donated by The Alcohol-Free Shop.

Keep them coming!

In last post I mentioned that we’d prefer payment by card.  It’s actually a paypal or credit card.  You can see how it works by visiting the Charity: Water Twestival pages and selecting ‘Manchester’ from the drop down.  If necessary we can accept cash or cheques but payment this way would be preferred.  Start emptying those wallets!

SOLD!

10 things you never knew about Code Computerlove

Posted on: 9 February 2009 at 20:38 - Comment

1. During one Code party, the three directors were pulled over by the police and asked to explain why they were racing on space hoppers down the road, dressed as Batman, Robin and Alan Partridge.

2. The agency has an official SHAME policy where you are allowed to come in up to 11am after a Code or client night – but if you miss this deadline you have to wear a pink apron and make everyone a brew whilst Dolly Parton 9-5 is played in the office.

3. Code Christmas trips aboard operate under strict ‘goes on tour stays on tour policy’ with good reason.

4. Tony Foggett once did a streak for charity.

5. Louis Georgiou has been witnessed actually asleep on the dance floor - while dancing (and there was no drink involved, he was just “very tired”).

6. Wini Tse is responsible for the most expensive animated gif in the history of the internet.

7. They usually return from award ceremonies having misplaced 50% of the awards they were given on the night.

8. Due to some (as still unclear) miscommunication, the entire agency team turned up to a Christmas medieval banquet, dressed as Mexicans.

9. Pitch presentations reached a new high (or should that be low) when, instead of using the version on the server reading final final final final v12….the presentation was edited whilst walking into the presentation room itself.

10. The agency’s chosen charity is Refuge and they provide regular work pro bono, as well as setting up many fundraising events.

Amazing Food

We had a great meeting yesterday with the lovely folk at the Living Room, discussing, amongst other things, mini fish and chips and teeny burgers…drool.  The good people at Amaze have kindly offered to pay for the food for Manchester Twestival which means even more money can go straight to Charity:Water.
